On 8 March 2026, Switzerland will vote on the SRG funding cut initiative. If passed, it would have serious consequences for Swiss sport. The SRG would be forced to drastically reduce its sports coverage and productions. Numerous sports and events would be affected – including the LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL.

Without the SRG, equestrian sport in Switzerland would lose a key media platform. This would have a significant impact on the development of young talent and on sponsor interest. Visibility is a key prerequisite for sport to thrive at both elite and grassroots levels.

Together with numerous sports federations and event organisers, we are therefore campaigning for a ‘No’ vote on this damaging halving initiative.
