As part of ‘The Winners’ Swiss Team Trophy, Thomas Fuchs was honoured for his twelve years as national show jumping coach. In his speech, Swiss Equestrian President Damian Müller paid tribute to the achievements of the man celebrating his birthday today: “Thomas has supported and played a major role in shaping the national team for 12 years. Thank you for everything you have done for our organisation”.
Fuchs was presented with a bench, seated himself on it and looked out at his former protégés before taking the floor: “I’ve noticed that many of my students ride better than I do myself – and I’ve always been able to rely on good camaraderie”. Speaking about his future, he said: “I’ll continue to follow the Swiss team and assist them from time to time. More time for the grandchildren – I don’t really have any specific plans”.
The emotional highlight of the day was a group photo with the riders, accompanied by thunderous applause – a moment of recognition for Thomas Fuchs and his outstanding commitment to Swiss show jumping.
