The LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL got off to an atmospheric start with the ceremonial entrance of the Clique Junteressli. President Dr h.c. Thomas Straumann then took the floor and asked the audience to observe a minute’s silence for the victims and their families in Crans-Montana. In his speech, he also emphasised that the welfare of the horses is always the top priority at the LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL.
Conradin Cramer, Government President of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, thanked the organising committee, the numerous volunteers and the spectators, and emphasised that equestrian sport thrives on shared experiences. The event concluded in spectacular fashion with an impressive show by Peter Marvey.
