Switzerland celebrated its first major success in the opening round of the Dressage World Cup at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel: Charlotta ‘Kiki’ Rogerson secured second place in the Grand Prix with her 14-year-old Dutch gelding Bonheur de la Vie. The judges were particularly impressed by the passage and the single and double changes, awarding a score of 72.630%.

As expected, the class was won by Isabell Werth (GER) on Wendy de Fontaine (78.674%). She was delighted with her start to the tournament in Basel: “Basel is simply wonderful, it’s just a fantastic tournament. Now we just need to reduce the draught in the warm-up arena a bit, but I’m sure Mr. Straumann will manage that”.

Third place went to the current World Cup leader, Raphael Netz (GER), riding DSP Dieudonne (71.848%).

The other two Swiss riders, Delia Eggenberger on Fairtrade (67.565%) and Estelle Wettstein on Quaterboy (66.326%), finished in eighth and eleventh place respectively.
